Under a multi-build registration with Ofsted, we will be providing four small homes on the same site caring for up to 6 children in total between the ages of 7 and 17 years old. This aligns with the increasing need for small, specialised settings for children with complex needs, who may have experienced significant trauma. 
 
This position offers an ideal opportunity for an experienced Senior Support Worker to develop their skills and experience. There will be huge opportunities for this role to progress quite quickly with the service for the right person.

Duties/Responsibilities: 

  • Assist the Registered Manager in providing a safe and nurturing environment for children and young people, appropriate to their age, understanding and identified needs.
  • Provide support with all aspects of their daily lives and encourage the children to engage in decision making relating to their care.
  • To encourage and support the children in taking responsibility for their self-care and personal hygiene, appropriate to their age.  To ensure that good health and welfare is promoted and that the needs of children are identified and services provided to meet these.  To foster positive relationships with the children, enabling them to develop their existing skills and acquire new ones.
  • Act as a positive role model and actively prepare and support the children when leaving care to enable them to make a successful transition into adulthood. Maintain a regular system of recording in connection with each child and be involved in the development and implementation of individual care plans, providing reports as required.
  • Act as the shift leader, including supporting the team, organising rotas and managing the home in accordance with policies and procedures. 


Skills & Experience Required: 

  • Experience working with Children and Young People in a residential setting.
  • The relevant Diploma for Children & Young People Workforce.
  • Ability to write clear and detailed reports.
  • Confident using office-based IT, including tablets and online care systems.
  • Be of good character and integrity.        
  • Resilience and tenacious qualities. 
  • Have a positive attitude and good sense of humour. 
  • A strong commitment to high-quality care and our core values.
  • Excellent team-working skills. 
    Self-motivation and adaptability.
  • A full UK driving licence and ability to drive the company vehicles is essential due to the remote location of the property.
  • Flexibility to work a rota pattern is essential.
